Black Pencil Prize

Just in time for my birthday, I received the Black Pencil Prize, which I wasn’t expecting and am very happy about. The Black Pencil is an unusual and virtuoso ensemble of recorders, pan flute, accordion, viola and percussion. Not knowing what sounds would come out. I composed the music by bumping around in the dark. The repertoire of the soloists ranges from jazz, church music, theatre works and contemporary music. They are based in Amsterdam, a bit far from Berlin, but I look forward to hearing them live in the near future.
