Memories of childhood
My childhood with the church in Japan ended when I was 14 years old. Before that, I was a fairly diligent member of the church: the children’s choir, craft events, and the church newspaper were all part of my life. Since then, I haven’t looked back on that time for a long time. However, when I composed three songs for “Es ist ein Ros entsprungen” (A Rose Has Sprung Up), the memories of that time came back with great intensity. It felt like a big reunion.
