Michiko’s Life

Michiko came to Naples from Yokohama by ship in 1953. I wonder what made her come to Europe right after the World War. In 1953, Japan was still a burnt country. She sang Madam Butterfly in numerous small Italian opera houses. And then?? How did she enter into the scene of contemporary music, with the likes of Cage, Scelsi?
Experts – both scholars and musicians – now finally get together on that topic. Perhaps I will ask my question directly to her brother, who will visit from Tokyo.
