What is a strip of land?

A narrow gap, a space in between, a place full of conflict: the 40 km long Gaza Strip, the 160 km long Berlin Wall, the 248 km long death zone between North and South Korea – all these places exist as symbols of separation, of conflict and at the same time of a very fragile hope.
If a piece of music is to be written in 2024/25, it must have a purpose. For what purpose? And why?

This new work is a prayer for peace that seeks dialog in the language of sound, a language that is often unspoken. It is also a call to overcome boundaries in the world and within ourselves.
